PADI Search and Recovery

Locating and retrieving lost objects. This course trains divers in techniques for finding small, medium, and large objects underwater and safely bringing them to the surface. The focus is on precision work with lines, knots, and lift bags.

Prerequisite: PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

Course content: * 4 open water dives focusing on search and recovery drills.

  • Planning search operations and estimating the probability of detection area.
  • Executing search patterns (e.g., circular, “U” pattern).
  • Tying specialized knots underwater (bowline, sheet bend, two half hitches).
  • Safe operation of lift bags for objects exceeding 10 kg.
